Music Therapy

“Music therapy is a healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages…promoting wellness, manage stress, alleviate pain, express feelings, enhance memory, improve communication and promote physical rehabilitation.”

Being a therapeutic musician is very rewarding.  My retirement community, long term care facilities, assisted/independent communities and memory care music programs are a wide variety of familiar tunes including sing-alongs, patriotic, folk, country, pop and any request.  Each program varies given the nature of the audience.  Many of the music therapy sessions evoke fond memories, vocalizations and positive physical reactions. While guitar and voice are my main instruments, I also play piano when one is available.
